INTERNATIONAL MUSIC & ARTS FESTIVAL 國際音樂藝術節
The highlight event for SDCACS is our yearly International Music and Arts Festival held around the Lunar New Year.
The first part is the Art Award Ceremony for our annual youth art competition. Judges chosen for their expertise and enthusiasm pick winners—divided by age groups. Prizes and scholarships are announced and awarded on the night of the Festival.
The music and dance portions consist of artists rigorously and carefully chosen for their superior record of accomplishments and for their skill and showmanship in their respective fields. That's a combination that has proven to ensure an entertaining and stellar evening for our audience of members and supporters.
Our volunteer board works very hard all year to bring this Festival to fruition.
23Rd Annual SDCACS Art Competition & Exhibition 2019
Dear Members and Friends:
I am very excited to announce that the 2018 International Music and Arts Festival will be held on Saturday, January 6th, 2018, at the Poway Center for the Performing Arts.
We have worked tirelessly in search of the most exciting programs for you and here are some of the highlights:
The festival will open with an impressive forty piece orchestra led by the talented and energetic Dr. Angela Yeung. The second act will be by an award winning pianist, who is one of our scholarship recipients. A fabulous Mariachi band will follow. This year we will bring a few ancient Chinese performances to our stage such as the unique Kun Qu opera and dance. We will also have a Chinese Yo Yo (Diabolo) master who will share his dazzling acrobatic and artistic skills. You will enjoy unique fusion Guzheng music as well as the popular Latin fusion band from last year, back by popular demand. Finally, we will conclude with songs by the Beach Boys and send you home with many sweet memories!
Again this year, we will have an art show by San Diego County students, between the ages of 5 to 16. Stop by the lobby early to view the incredible artwork by seventy young artists and the presentation of cash awards and trophies.
The SDCACS Board of Directors wish to continue to achieve the vision of our founding members 26 years ago. Our mission is to promote Chinese art and culture, and at the same time, to bridge the many cultures in our wonderfully diverse city.
I cannot thank you enough for your continued support and we always strive to bring you the best performances each year.
Please come and celebrate art and culture with us. Tickets are on sale now.
I wish you a wonderful holiday season.
